21st July, 2019

Wow , what a great turn out to the Paeroa run. A great big thanks to Bernard and Louise for organising such a great event.

14 Bright and shiny Jaguars turned up at 10 am to Woodlands café on Sunday 21 July and once again enjoyed the welcoming hospitality and the delicious food from this fabulous café, right on our doorstep.

The 11am departure , with destination Paeroa, was via a scenic route at the back of Te Kauwhata on to Waeranga , through the Maramarua forest to SH2. From SH2 , on to Ngatea. Continuing through Ngatea towards  Paeroa and stopping at the Maritime Museum.

I have passed this museum on many occasions and have never bothered to stop, silly me. What a wonderful stop. We had a guided tour from the very knowledgeable and helpful volunteers. The Museum is in the middle of a $5millon dollar upgrade to be a part of the cycle way that is now world famous , this will include  a café. We will await the café and will sure have it on our list as lunch venue.

Time was ticking on, some went to lunch at the Refinery, some went to ‘AJays’ ford parts, the new American parts supplier in Paeroa. This was very interesting, a couple of sales were made, and everyone had a good look around before heading to the refinery for a late lunch.  After lunch, people made their own way home. A great day had by all.
